Texas Tech Lady Raider basketball newcomer Bryn Gerlich will be immediately eligible to play this season after having her NCAA transfer waiver approved. Tech Athletics and head coach Krista Gerlich announced the decision on Thursday afternoon.
Gerlich transferred to Texas Tech this summer after playing the first two seasons of her career at Oklahoma State. She competed in 28 games during her sophomore season, including a career-high 10-point outing at Texas A&M, and appeared in 23 games for the Cowgirls as a freshman. Gerlich was named to the Academic All-Big 12 Team a season ago, and was selected to the Academic All-Big 12 rookie team in 2018-19.
A Colleyville, Texas, product, Gerlich attended Colleyville Heritage where she scored 2,000 points over the course of her career and was twice named district MVP. As a senior, she averaged 14.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.7 steals and 1.5 assists per game.
The Lady Raiders open the 2020-21 season on Wednesday, Nov. 25 when they play host to UTRGV at 1 p.m.
